Save a TikTok video to your gallery
After downloading a public TikTok video, the browser decides where the file is stored. These steps help you find it and save it correctly.
On iPhone
Safari normally saves the file in Files → Downloads. Open the file, tap Share and choose Save Video when iOS supports the MP4 container.
On Android
Open the browser download manager or the Files app and check Downloads. From there, move or share the MP4 to your gallery application.
On computer
Check the default Downloads folder in your browser. You can change the location in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari settings.
Avoid confusing storage with gallery indexing
A browser can finish saving an MP4 without adding it to your photo library. First locate and open the file from Downloads. On iPhone, use Share and Save Video when available; on Android, use a compatible gallery or move the file into a media folder. Gallery refresh delays do not necessarily mean the download failed.
Check the file type and available space
MP3 files belong in an audio player, and a JPG is only a still picture. If an MP4 does not open, check that the download completed and that your device supports the codec. Keep enough free space for both the downloaded file and a possible copy added to Photos. Avoid downloading repeatedly before checking for existing copies.
Frequently asked questions

Some browsers save MP4 files in Downloads first. Use the system Share or Save Video action to move the file to Photos.
Does Tikdn keep a copy of the file?
